A NOTE ON PROVENANCE: This dress is from the estate of a ballet instructor who lived and taught in San Francisco. She had a collection of dance costumes, so this dress may have been used in a ballet or dance production. Wear it as a costume or as a regular dress, it will work beautifully for either!
A NOTE ON COLOR: The black has been lightened to show detail in the photos, but presents as true/solid black in person.

Good vintage condition. Freshly washed and ready to wear! Fabric is sturdy and dress presents beautifully with excellent movement. A few tiny holes have been patched from behind; all except for one of these repairs are hidden under the fringe at the neckline and aren't noticeable; the other is on the front of the bodice and isn't too noticeable. Very faint discoloration at underarms, which isn't noticeable when worn as the fringe is distracting and covers most of it. Two tears along the bottom tiers of the skirt, which have been mended and aren't too noticeable when worn as it gets lost in the busyness of the print and fullness of the skirt (see last photo).
